Passing through Piazzale Aldo Fusi, we were pleased to notice that Open Baladin was open, despite being reported elsewhere as "temporarily closed." The place immediately catches the eye with its unusual glass-covered architecture set in a different surrounding landscape, inevitably sparking curiosity. We then settled in and, between sips of excellent craft beer, we tasted an excellent pork shank braised with Brune Baladin beer accompanied by cherry jam, onions, and berries, served with roasted potatoes from Avezzano. Afterwards, we enjoyed tasty sandwiches and the famous "Fatate," irresistible homemade chips fried with the skin on. Meanwhile, we learned about the history of the place. Before 2006, the square was empty. For the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the Canadians erected a pavilion made of red cedar wood, a symbol tree of British Columbia. After the Games ended, the structure was donated to the municipality. It was later dismantled and that precious wood was reused to build the Melano Refuge in Pinerolo (in Val Sbarua). The remaining skeleton in the square, characterized by its evocative chalet shape and surrounded by large windows, was subsequently redeveloped and enhanced, becoming today Pinerolo's home to the Baladin beer temple. In summary: an excellent dinner, a comfortable environment, and always kind and attentive service.

Really very positive experience. I tried their HotBurger and it convinced me in every aspect: perfectly cooked meat, well-balanced ingredients, and bold flavors without being excessive. The real strength, however, was the bun, soft, tasty, and able to enhance the sandwich without overpowering it. Also excellent was the selection of craft beers and the atmosphere of the place. Definitely a place I will gladly return to.

Welcome to Open Baladin Torino

A glass-walled pub in the heart of the city

In the heart of Turin, OPEN Baladin opened its doors in 2014, breathing new life into a symbolic location: Casa Canada, the headquarters that housed the Canadian delegation during the 2006 Winter Olympics. A once-abandoned building has been transformed into a bright and welcoming pub, nestled within an urban skate park and seamlessly integrated into the urban fabric.

A haven for craft beer

OPEN Baladin Torino is a large, modern glass-walled lodge whose silhouette evokes the classic Baladin label. Taking center stage, a long bar and a tall bottle rack make beer the undisputed star of the show: over 25 taps dedicated to the finest Italian brews and a selection of bottles from national and international craft breweries.
